Yikes! That the Xiaomi subsidiary SmartMi (8:01) knows in real time how many of their devices are in use around the globe tells me that all are communicating with servers in China. Given the power the Chinese Communist Party wields over its domestic corporations, is that something you want your Xiaomi smart home bridge or other products to be doing?

I bought the Xiaomi Air Purifier 2S 4 months ago and have to say it is an excellent product. Very impressed. What I would like to know though is are they careful during their manufacturing processes or are they bad polluters?
