Hey thanks again for everyone’s support on this build! BTW the Volvo we towed my wrecked semi with also was bought from copart wrecked same just like this one. My brother in-law “in the video” he fixed it up, so can I. See everything is fixable just letting you guys know this is not a impossible task. Yes there is a lot of work ahead but with blood, sweat and lots of tears I can do it... THANKS FOR WATCHING :)

Joseph Deffendoll no 30k more in parts, should cost altogether 50/55k

  • Joseph Deffendoll  1 months ago

@TheRustyCracker holy shit 50k plus the 20k to buy it? Or 30k more in parts? That's still a buttload of money. I guess I will have to watch you guys. And I can start small like cars....lol

thats not a rebuild thats a replace!

  • Take some time to locate all the replacement parts if trying to get used parts, seeing how its volvo's new model, so finding one not completely wrecked for parts will be hard & new ones won't be cheap.

Thats what i thought too. The only salageable piece really is the motor, maybe the frame if it didn't tweak or tear in the wreck.

Looks like financial suicide for me :D

If you have a shop do the work because you don't know what you are getting in to it could be. But doing your self the worst that could happen is you need to part the truck out.

It's scary to think of an accident like that.

  • Yep

$160K new, so, that'll buy a lot of replacement parts and stuff having paid $20K. I'll sub. Can't wait to see this progress through the stages.

  • By far the craziest rebuild on YouTube right now

  • boosted skyline yes because a burnt hellcat vin-swap does not count

  • boosted skyline  4 months ago

    you sure about that

  • Junkyard Boosted  4 months ago

That’s not “ghetto Rigging” they pulled the axle shafts out to tow it and that square board stops it from leaking any diff fluid. Completely normal thing to do for transporting

  • eric l  3 months ago

That's what I was about say bet that tire was the steer tire that blow up.

  • Jeff L  4 months ago

junkyard is right, you have to do it, otherwise you will destroy the trans. Those autos don't handle being towed with the driveshaft in.
