Incredible performance. That being said, I can't help but notice the fact that Miranda is using Alexander Hamilton's prestige and new-found street cred to push a political agenda that is against the very rights that he and the other Founding Fathers of the United States defended (like the right of the people to keep and bear arms). I loved the fact that the musical didn't go out of its way to push the agenda of its creator, but we all have political views, and this song was used by Lin-Manuel Miranda to support the modification of a fundamental Constitutional right. I'm sure his heart was in the right place, but expressing it through Hamilton's character is, at least, disingenuous. Remember, Hamilton wrote the other 51! If you guys are truly interested in the amazing history that inspired the musical, you will enjoy reading Federalist No. 29 and Federalist No. 35, both of which include Hamilton's analysis on the right to self-preservation.

It’s really nice how easily they shift the words to say ‘we, us, etc.’ They know we’ll do great things with them.
