The evap system just takes any fuel that evaporates in the gas tank and they go into that charcoal canister. And when its running the computers gonna tell the valves in the system when to purge the canister vapors.

nottacop he didn’t say anything about power... he was talking about personal freedom... IDIOT

  • Randall Whalen  (Jan 9, 2019))

+frits duwel Hydrocarbon emissions have nothing to do with the ozone (that's how it's spelled), that was CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) emissions from freon and propellant from aerosol cans, so nice job dumbass.

  • atrix blue  (Nov 7, 2018))

I'm going to say it till it happens man, REDUCE DUST IN YOUR PAINT, WET THOSE FLOORS!! Those dust sheets for a make shift booth has static in it that static is pulling dust from all angles and when your painting you spraying through dusty air onto a dusty panel (even after grease and wax remover), You have a high level exhaust fan running pulling up dust too. shop VAC or Brush out as much dust and debris out the booth, compressed air kicks up dust so don't use that to clean the floor or surrounding are...

  • Tanker Yanker  (Nov 6, 2018))

Just an idea fellas, for a paint booth curtain, run you an 1/8" cable from front to back, with one in the center to the roof center point get you a couple big cloth tarps with brass holes, hang one on the back half and one on the front half, it'll save you alot of climbing and plastic and tape. You can pull it closed when you're painting and back open when done. It'll make things alot easier on you. Just an idea, not telling you how to do things. Excellent job on the paint! Keep up the good work....

  • Matt Cerbone  (Nov 19, 2018))

Excellent idea. They can always tarp it to keep it clean when not in use

  • Tristan Winter  (Nov 11, 2018))

    Very much agreed!!

  • FixBroz  (Nov 6, 2018))

  • Robert McCall  (Nov 6, 2018))

Shipping container behind the shop and put all your parts and boxes in ...will give you so much more room and be cheap

  • jordan minton  (Nov 6, 2018))

Robert McCall or have the shipping container connected to the shop🤔

  • Deksam101  (Nov 6, 2018))

You guys should install a big permanent see through plastic divider curtain, open and close when you need it.

  • PossessedGamer  (Nov 6, 2018))

The Evaporative Emission ControlSystem (EVAP) is used to prevent gasoline vapors from escaping into the atmosphere from the fuel tank and fuelsystem. The EVAP system usually requires no maintenance, but faults can turn on the Check Engine light and prevent a vehicle from passing an OBD II plug-in emissions test. Copy pasted from google but thats what an EVAP is for.

  • NatoriousGamePlay  (Nov 7, 2018))

Yeah the evap system doesn't really do much but can fail. Happened to me when I had to get emissions testing. It can "fix" itself like what happened to me, but nobody really ever has an issue with it

  • Captain Lag  (Nov 7, 2018))

PossessedGamer At least you’re honest about it 😂

  • Lack Attack  (Nov 6, 2018))

Made me cringe spraying base directly on the factory e-coat. You should be spraying a sealer before any topcoat. It adds chip resistance, a more uniform finish and much better adhesion. A lot of paint manufacturers wont even warranty their product unless the panels are sealed first.

  • Lack Attack  (Nov 8, 2018))

+Johnny p Good article. Auto body news is a great resource.
