Because he is overrated and wouldn't become anything on the 49ers because they wouldn't have Belechick's system. Dumb shits

Brady's college stats were far from eye popping and he had an awful combine. Why is this still a story in 19? He fell into the right place at the right time and he cashed in!

Wonder how Chad Pennington would have done on the Patriots? He was the #1 ranked qb on most teams boards that year.

why are you picking out SF for passing on Brady? every team passed on Brady.. heck, even New England passed on him 5 times before finally picking him.... let's not pretend that New England knew something nobody else did....

After they were rattling down all his bad or mediocre statistics - Brady: It's not really what my skill set is but fortunately for me it isn't for a NFL-QB either.

Maybe they should be less obsessed with statistics (=> e.g. athletic ability 2:03 vs. 3:27 ) and give more room of evaluation for the actual game play. Can he read the game, makes he the right and more so intelligent guesses about the ways of his teammates, can he transfer the ideas of the coach and lead the team, can he adapt, is he calm and focused even under the highest pressure.

One things Brady has, for instance, is the confidence and the skill to bring on long passes in the 3rd down. This all or nothing situations that demand a far greater risk - if you really want success.

Enough already. Brady was a SIXTH round pick, which means EVERY TEAM PASSED ON HIM 5 TIMES. The GOAT was a miracle, a fluke, a genie in a bottle. NOTHING in his college career or even in his early pro career showed any hint of what he was to become. He was riding the bench until Drew Bledsoe got blasted and knocked out of the game.

As a niners fan I don’t blame the niners for not picking Tom, he just didn’t look all that good in the combine

I'm a rabid Niners fan and even I know that regardless of who the Patriots have played, they are probably playing the best well balanced ball on both sides than they have in recent seasons. For anyone not to see that is extremely shortsighted and delusional. We still have issues with longsnapper and kicker that is going to eventually bite us in the ass

In 2000 the NFL was looking for the next Steve Young. Big, mobile, athletic, running QBs. Since about 2008 most teams are now looking for the next Tom Brady.

Even more amazing that NE kept Brady as the 4th QB. Bill B usually doesn’t even keep a 3rd QB.
