I feel like this video gives us a good peek inside matty's mind during his addiction...it's brilliantly done really, especially the 'sincerity is scary' part
Matty had this on and off addiction to heroin for the past 3-4 years. It was not extremely serious but it did affect his life and he felt the need to fix the problem. He went to rehab for a couple of weeks before starting on the making of this third album. Now he is completely clean of any kind of hard drugs besides weed. Yes, this song is about drug addiction.
John Denver Duyog yes and yes
The only way I can find to describe the 1975 is Groovy Depression
A lot of people seem to be unaware but upbeat songs and rather dark lyrics is not a new concept, people are free to correct me if i'm wrong but David Bowie was know for this and nowadays arcade fire is also doing a pretty good job in that department also what is no surprise seeing how Bowie took a liking to them. That doesn't subtract from the 1975 put out but upbeat synths has been around for a while :P No clue what to actually call it, considering how many sub-genres there are today. Not that it re...
PATRICIA TRYS this is not about depression, it's about addiction
I wonder what goes on inside Matty’s mind. He’s always on edge but yet so sophisticated with it.
+Tristan O'Rogan I think a lot of people have that. And he's English, thanks.
Director: which dance move do you wanna do? Matty: YES 6:47
Director: ‘I’m gonna show you a video of David Byrne dancing in the talking heads stop making sense tour and you can copy it’Matty: YES
Addiction/withdrawal symptoms in order:-Nightmares-Hypnic jerks (sudden moments in dreams that cause you to startle awake)-Hallucinations, specifically of impossible things (a person splitting into two identical twins), and irrational acceptance of them-Distorted perception of time (feeling like everything around you is moving too fast or too slow)-Sudden body dysmorphia-Paranoia, specifically of subtle changes when you aren’t looking (the background dancers switching sides while he’s off-stage)...
Hey Hombre absolutely spot on. Withdrawal is nothing like that list in any way whatsoever. Lol it’s nothing to do with ones mind. It is a real deal PHYSICAL issue.
+Bryant Rozario suicide is never rational, you ignorant fool. Suicide is never okay, but that person doesn't have the rationality left to identify that anymore. Dude it's 2019 pls read up ffs
"Can you dance?" Me: 6:47
He was doing the forest gump
Parodying this many genres at once is mind-blowing. If there's another band alive half as entertaining, I don't know who they are.
He's copying David Byrne to a T. I found it kind of embarrassing.
akahige Same! Like specifically trap music... I really don’t like it but somehow on “I Like America and America Likes Me” the trap music is dope af
Stop Making Sense (1984) reprised by The 1975 in 2018
Just go with the flow, stop being judgemental towards others get a life.
It's an honor
this video is really good and really underrated
that part where he just randomly walks into the sincerity is scary video, that was brilliant.
Reminds of the music videos I grew up with when mtv was actually about music videos. Those days were great
Nah that part was nice..but they still need to work on soothing out the audio in such sceneswhen the scene ends..the music just starts abruptly.
