    Companies being able to track the activities of people who use their websites outside when not on their website should be illegal. Full stop. Even opting in should be illegal.

    Opt-out on a per instance basis as part of the page load. Otherwise it will be like you agreeing to forced arbitration so you can have a credit card.

    i bet 70-80% of the idiots making comments here are on facebook.
    and if anyone is actually viewing the internet and NOT BLOCKING ALL ADS..well they are just stupid.....i never see an ad....and i can not be tracked

    Europe requires you to give permission to have cookies track you, but they fill the screen with this intrusive PSA that's unclear if you must give permission to access the site. Given how shitty consumer protection is in the US, I can see sites just blocking you from accessing the site at all if you don't opt in, like they do with Adblocker.

    And FUCK YOU, YOUTUBE, for adding TWO ads at the beginning of most videos. FUCK. YOU.
