GOONZQUAD Its the crankshaft position sensor. The crankshaft and camshaft position sensors have to be in sync for the specific motor. Since your cam and crank are for different types of motors they are no longer in sync Remember one was electronic and one was driveby wire, sensors have to both be for same type. Take crankshaft position off other motor and itll run right. Common issue

I did this swap as well. I swaped in the cable throttle assembly in the car and kept the other intake on, and swaped in the other ecu. Still runs great. But i bet with the crank trigger being changed, it will you help alot qnd get you closer to your goal.

  • That's good stuff right there. For y'all being so young y'all sure do a great job. Be proud of all these builds and can definitely see the progress in confidence and knowledge you have learned. Keep it going!!!!

so both engines are AP2, but the DBW engine and all hondas 2006 and up went to a different style of cam and crank sensors.... first you need to pull the crank postion sensor wheel from behind the crank pulley and put that one on the new motor with the appropriate sensor... same problem you had with the cams... after that you should be good as the intake manifold (and all parts associated TB etc) cam and crank sensors are the only difference.... very common problem when guys are swapping engines...AL...

superlate w2 I wonder if goonzquad is reading this?

  • superlate w2  26 days ago

Exactly david duffield. Cam and crank sensor mismatch also explains long cranking time before startup. The ecm is confused
