  • Bon Appétit Test Kitchen manager, Brad Leone, is back for episode 25 of “It’s Alive,” and this time he’s making salt. Brad visits Ben Jacobsen, of Jacobsen Salt Co. (and many “It’s Alive” cameos), to learn how seawater from the Pacific Northwest is turned into some of the best salt products in the world.

Join Bon Appétit test kitchen manager, Brad Leone, on a wild, roundabout and marginally scientific adventure exploring fermented foods and more. From cultured butter and kombucha, to kimchi and miso, to beer and tepache, learn how to make fermented and live foods yourself.

I found their salts on Amazon, there were like 10 plus options of flavors. There's even a white truffle salt.

God I love this show. I keep coming back to these episodes. Brad is such a cool weird dude and the editing makes this an absolute gem to watch countless times. Fills me with joy. Thank you everyone involved.

Did you see those pyramidal shaped salt crystals. Ever wonder if there was some kind of connection to the pyramids and the shape of salt crystals, just a thought.
