  • The Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration observed the supermassive black hole at the center of M87, finding the dark central shadow in accordance with General Relativity, further demonstrating the power of this 100 year-old theory.

To understand more about why the shadows look the way they do, check out: https://cnclips.net/video/zUyH3XhpLTo/video.html

People predicted black holes long before Hawking (1916 already). That doesn't take away from what he did as what he did was hugely complex and difficult but his predictions are yet to be proven experimentally.

This is actually so amazing. People assumed that black holes might have not existed, the picture we are seeing is technically a new discovery. It just blows my mind

  • Noartist  (3 hours ago))

+Synceer Harvey lol ofcourse its fake. Its Nasa. They dont exist and if they did photographing one over 53 million light years away would not be possible. Welcome to the real world. Lies

  • Noartist  (3 hours ago))

They dont, its all fake, but go on... pls explain how they were able to photograph something so elusive or never proven over 53 million light years away. Amazing.
