  • Pre-order my first cookbook, Eat What You Watch: A Cleverly-Titled Romp Through the Fanciful Fêtes of Fiction! Really it's just called Eat What You Watch, but I totally should have called it that instead.
    Amazon: http://a.co/bv3rGzr
    Barnes & Noble: http://bit.ly/2uf65LX

Enter to win one of 5 pre-orders of my book by recreating your favorite food from Zelda and posting a picture to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter with #eatwhatyouwatch by AUGUST 15! Grand prize winner also wins an 8" Victorionox Fibrox Chef's Knife and will have their recipe featured on Part II of this episode! No purchase necessary or whatever. Winners are determined solely by me and what I think of your food.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild may very well be the first open-world RPG developed for the Switch, released in 2017, not including DLC, to so prominently feature cooking in its story and strategy. At least it will be in my mind until someone angrily corrects me in the comments. Seldom have fruits and vegetables dancing in a wok over an open fire yielded so many hearty stews, stamina potions, and pixelated monstrosities.

    Recipes coming soon to bingingwithbabish.com!

The baked apples are made by throwing them directly into the fire, not in the pot. You would have made simmered fruit.

So Babish: Skyrim has like, the BEST recipes. Their cooking system is so underrated. There are soups/stews, cooked meats, entire dishes, and also some pastries. I'd say make the sweet roll or the honey candy, but there are so many more interesting ones that you might have to come back to Skyrim quite a few times to get all the good ones.

Staying with Nintendo recipes, have you considered recreating the snacks that Crusty Sean fries up at the Crust Bucket in Splatoon 2? Methinks the various shrimp recipes from the Forrest Gump episode would be a good reference for the panko crusted, deep fried shrimp. A different waffle iron might have to be called for…
