Binging with Babish: Rum French Toast from Mad Men

  • Don Draper likes his french toast the way he likes himself - drenched in booze. An over-proofed brioche, a cabin in the woods, two accidental audio glitches, and a whole lot of dark rum are at the center of this week's revisiting of Madison Avenue's frequent clashes of food and alcohol. Enjoy with a Lucky Strike.

Just a suggestion that I got from a Youtube cooking channel (which I can't remember, but will look through my sub list for the name), when cooking maple syrup, use Grade "B" syrup which is darker and will stay a little thicker when cooked. When I used to live in NYC, I got it at Whole Foods in Union Square (which seemed to be the only location that cared it regularly)

If she mistook the rum for mrs.butterworth; it was probably Frangelico which is a hazelnut rum liqueur.

I want one, but without eggs or toast. And double the rum.

Add angostura and put it on ice, too.
