  • So for our decades series last year we traveled back through time until the 1960s - so I decided to go back another decade and put together an entire look based on the fashion, hair and makeup trends of the 50s! What do you think of the finished look?

A big thank you to Kayley Melissa and Gabriela Hernandez for helping us out with our midcentury makeover!

Safiya Nygaard lol I always get lost in books

  • I hope she does this all the way to the 1700s and walks around wearing a powdered wig yelling “THE BRITISH ARE COMING” 😂

This woman is incredible in the stuff she puts out for the viewers. A culture trip down the history lane with such social analysis shows she is not just a beauty, but a beauty with brains! Alright! (Safiya style)

I wish this series went back to the 40's, 30's, and 20's. Those were some cool eras in fashion and super dramatic. You in a 30's frock would be glam and witchy and amazing. A new installment of the series, perhaps??

  • Yumi 2412  (Apr 6, 2019))

That would be amazing. Also, I'd love to see her collaborating with became cosmetics again~

  • V Vv  (Mar 17, 2019))

Not just those eras but then go further back, past few centuries worth of fashion! Would also be cool to see her dress up in a kimono and traditional clothing of other countries.

I love that saf doesn’t just go in with whatever she wants. She actually does research and shows respect to the culture at that time

calichef1962 I hate boxings too but I do watch them to make me sleep

  • luv sam  (Mar 4, 2019))

Is it me or did she just give us a full on history lesson on the 1950s fashion I feel like I can write a complete exam on this topic and pass with a 100/100 lol love the video

Up until the day she died, my Nana would set up shop at her kitchen table and curl her hair once a week. She was so classy. She had satin scarves and hair nets that she would strategically use to protect her do. However, my favorite hair tip that I ever learned from her was....using a plastic Walmart bag to protect your hair from the rain. 🖤🖤I miss that woman.

I really love that she puts research into her videos. It’s not just “oh, this looks old. Let’s use it.” She cares about her content☺️
