He buys a salvage car for $4k and it has a half full tank of fuel ... I buy a used car at a dealer for 17k €uros and the fuel light is on ... USA vs EU.

Samcrac and wrecked German sports cars. Name a more iconic duo. I’ll wait.

Great buy! And a 6 speed - only way to go. Do the IMS bearing and you should have a solid car.

  • Anton Zuykov  4 months ago

Darren It749 that is already too late. And for that to work you have to be changing it every 200 miles in order not to miss the moment! Once the bearing starts to deteriorate, it’s condition will worsen the worse it gets. That is to say the condition of the bearings will deteriorate exponentially. And if you change your oil every 3-5k, you might not make it to the next “diagnostic” oil change.

wakkadakkaify signs of IMS bearing? There are no visible signs of the problem (without disassembling the motor, looking that shaft and the condition of the ball bearings and the track).
