    Ingredients & Grocery List:
    Russet potatoes
    Peanut oil (or preferred frying oil)
    Beef: short rib, brisket, and sirloin
    Burger accoutrements: tomato, iceberg lettuce, red onion
    Burger buns (plus butter to toast them in)
    Vegetable oil
    Salt and pepper
    American cheese (or your preferred cheese)
    Special Sauce ingredients:
    Garlic powder
    Onion powder
    Paprika (regular or smoked)
    Sweet relish

    Special Equipment:
    Vegetable peeler
    Meat grinder (I use the Kitchen Aid attachment)
    Deep fryer (or vessel suited for frying)
    Cast iron skillet
    Instant-read thermometer

    I agree with American cheese. It's such a bad cheese in most situations, but it's absolutely perfect for burgers and grilled cheese. No other cheese comes close.

    This comment will get lost because this video is old, but please hear this:Tasteless beef does not a bad burger make, but a tasteless bun will. The bun is BY FAR the most important part of the burger. It sounds stupid. It sounds ludicrous. But think about it. Imaging the most perfect burger, exquisitely seasoned and tantalizingly juicy . . . and put it on a dry, bland bun. It will ruin it, I promise you. If you still don't believe me, do an experiment.     It reminds me of the burger place in my hometown. The meat wasn't that great but the bun and the sauce is probably the best food combination I've ever eaten.

    I prefer butter lettuce. It looks better (food is a sensory experience, this matters), it has flavour which contributes to the overall burger instead of tasting like diluted grass and also holds burger juices better. I don't personally enjoy raw tomato, it's a personal thing. I also cook my onions. They are too acidic when raw. I also use a brioche bun (toasted with sesame seeds on top) for extra flavour.     +Djames Djefferson dude, the best type of burger is a burger dripping with "burger juice" (I don't know the actual name of it). You just don't get that with anything more than medium-rare. Besides, raw burger meat has a far better texture (and it's good overall) than burger meat that's been cooked a̲t̲ ̲a̲l̲l̲.

    All purpose Flour, shortening, salt and baking powder, warm water for flour tortillas, or just Masa flour and then warm water for corn. Use either a tortilla press or just a heavy pan to flatten it out, and cook on a medium high pan.
