His Nets excuse is pathetic. He went there for 1 reason. Because he wanted to expand his show (The Boardroom) in a major media market without having to deal with the expectations for leading a franchise (the Knicks) that have been begging for a leader. You think it's a coincidence that the two biggest whiners about the media, Kyrie and KD, chose to leave playoff teams and good organizations for BROOKLYN??????

I call bullshit on KD blaming draymond or the warriors’s just a scapegoat and the easiest answer that the fans and media will believe. I don’t think he’s ever said the real reason and won’t ever.

He did not master the "team" game. He is an iso ball star. He transformed the Warriors from a great team into a team with great players. In the "end", without the iso ball star they had grown to rely on, they lost their greatness. They became defensible. This dynamic was most evident on the highly discussed play against the Clippers. On the court Draymond was right on the play. He pushed the ball upcourt (one tactic that made the Warriors indefensible). If Durant had sprinted upcourt to HIS spot (we know this spot from previous Championships) , the defense would not have collapsed on Draymond and would have attempted to cover Durant, Steph and Klay perhaps doubling one or two of them. This would have left the lane clear to drive or if defenders made a wrong move and left one of them wide open. Durant took all of those choices away when he stood there clapping his hands as if he alone could win the game. This became the Warriors poison. Durant also affected the debth of the team. The Warriors earlier makeup started with a talented veteran bench. Durants addition limited this value. This and the wear and tear of playing two extra months five straight years all added up.

It was never about “putting Russell in his place..”, It was ALWAYS about being as outstanding as him. KD is very lackadaisical. He’s nonchalant in certain situations. You can see it in his body language and even some games 🤷🏻‍♂️ He doesn’t have a killer instinct for the game of basketball. He’ll do well enough, and that’s it.
