  • In this episode of Moving to Orlando, we take a look at Champions Gate - an area on the outskirts of Orlando, but close to the developed I-4 corridor creating the perfect ecosystem for future growth. Most importantly, it’s 10 minutes from Disney property!

Im sorry guys, you def should have done your research before making a video on a community. Anyone watching:
Do your own research on Champions Gate. Do not use this video as a source

Also answer the question why a lot of people move there: hands down - Golf

I lived there for a yr and loved it. but traffic between there and Disney which is only 6 miles away is a nightmare. It sometimes took 90 minutes to go that 6 miles. On Fridays during afternoon rush hour it sometimes took me 2hrs to go through that little stretch. Even on Saturdays, I stayed home because it could take 30 minutes or an hr. Other than traffic, very beautiful, upscale place and compared to were I moved from cheap upscale apts.

We enjoy Reunion Resort and shop for groceries in Champions Gate while staying there. As a visitor, it's a very nice area.

I looked at many areas when house hunting here in Orlando, I settled on Champions Gate, because it felt 10 degrees cooler and more like the country then any other area and it was cheaper than Celebration, Winter Garden or Hunters Creek. However it is being built up right now and in 5 years all open fields and orange groves will be subdivisions. Also nice because there are two ways to get to Disney I-4 is the quickest, unless there an accident closing a lane down. Champions Gate is exit #58, 4 miles from the first Disney exit going East bound on I-4, I can leave my house at the start of my fast pass window and still make the end of my fast pass window at AK, HS or Epcot! Unless it's Spring Break or Christmas week, then it takes me 20 minutes to go the mile and a half to get to I-4, because this is a HUGE short term rental area, our traffic goes with the Disney tourist volume seasons.

CG is a really nice place, but the traffic in the late afternoon/early evening can be backed up for miles getting onto I4.

I have a First Watch up here in Gaithersburg, MD... That place is amazing, and I always suggest Sunday morning brunch there as a date idea when I ask someone out...

I was thinking about Champions Gate, but I need an easier access to 429 and 417 to avoid I-4.

First Watch is awesome. We have one near my home in Ohio. It is similar to Fresh Mediterranean Market at the Dolphin in quality.

The comment about Polk County receiving Tampa cable stations was a surprise to me. Not only cable, but also Hulu and PS Vue. There isn't anything that the television providers can do about it either.
