    Okay so I tasked myself with making these cookies and let me tell you, THESE WERE A CHORE TO MAKE BUT THEY ARE 100% WORTH IT. My first batch didn’t turn out too well for a number of reasons (i.e. I left them in the oven for a lot longer than I needed to, I used milk chocolate instead of semi sweet/dark chocolate, etc.) so I decided to try again except this time I changed it up. I browned salted butter instead of unsalted so that way I didn’t have to add the whole tablespoon of salt that was recommended...

    Aaron Smith It’s for control. Salted butter can vary in salt content from brand to brand, or even batch to batch. Since baking requires precision, using unsalted butter allows you to be precise in your salt measurements.
